PLEASE EMAIL SUE TO GET ZOOM LINK FOR CLASS. Classes will be recorded.

Meditation Through the Seasons: Students will practice simple seated and standing exercises aimed at relaxing the body and calming the mind, influenced by Eastern healing modalities of Yoga, Qi Gong, and T’ai Chi. These slow, smooth movements improve flexibility, coordination, strength, and balance without stressing the major joints of the body.

The 5 Element theory of wellness, aligned with the 5 seasons, structures each class. Students learn to support their physical and energetic health year-round by energizing their body, mind, and spirit.

Each class holds opportunities to deepen our breath, stretch and strengthen our bodies according to the season. Join in via Zoom.

Chair yoga offers an enjoyable way to improve strength, balance and mobility for easier everyday movement. It promotes bone health by building functional stability throughout the body and safely strengthening key muscle groups that promote good posture. Classes combine chair-supported weight-bearing yoga poses, core strengthening work, and resistance exercises all while minimizing stress on sensitive joints.

A stable chair makes weight-bearing poses safer and more accessible, helping stimulate bone remodeling in the hips, spine, and wrists while reducing excess joint-strain. Mindful movement and conscious breathing assist the regulation of the nervous system helping you feel more connected, energized and confident in your body. Chairs and other props provided, no need to bring a mat.

Mondays: Belly Dance for Fun & Fitness

11:30am - 12:30pm

Fall Session - September 14-October 26 (no class 10/12)

Cost: $60 for 6 week session or $10 drop in (cash, check, Venmo)

Belly dancing is an ancient art form that has become a popular form of exercise.  This class is fun while providing you with a low-impact workout. Increase muscle tone, improve posture and flexibility. Belly dancing targets the muscles of the core as we stretch and tone abdominal and back muscles with the signature circular movements of middle eastern belly dance. Belly dancing is considered a weight bearing exercise, which adds the additional benefits of increased bone strength and osteoporosis prevention.

Enjoy fluid movements such as swaying, circling and undulating various muscle groups throughout the body. Prior dance experience is not required; participants need only be willing to engage in movement.
